Insane

"These striking beasts seemingly take their first breath when our own subjective narrative begins to reveal itself, the animal’s human eyes pleading with the viewer to resolve its potential role in existence. It is within this dichotomy that viewers experience feelings of empathy and anxiety, not knowing if the tamed chaos begins or ends with themselves."
These sculptures by Kate clark are equal parts eerie and magical. The expression in the faces are so human like I thought they were digitally altered. See more of her work here.

I throw myself at men.....

I love this photo series:
Combining photography with experimental art, her on-going series “I Throw Myself At Men” is literally that. She walks into bars and asks dudes she doesn’t know if she can throw herself at them while her partner takes a picture of it.
I love her sense of humor. Her other series include her laying in a public space wearing a nightgown.
Check out her site here.

Pari Zangeneh

Pari Zangeneh is a Persian classical and folk vocalist from Iran. she got into a car accident and lost her eyesight in 1971, and wore sunglasses everywhere after that.

I've been listening to Pari Zangeneh a lot lately since I just discovered it on my itunes. I have no re-collection on how it got in there but I'm so glad it is!

Suspiria

One of my favorite scary movies. The imagery and set design is amazing.

Heron

So much great music came from the 70's. These guys are one of my favorites.
...Heron don’t enjoy the studio experience – everyone too “fragile” creatively to cope - so decide to record only in fields!

Alexa Chung for Madewell

I am in love with the new Alexa Chung for Madewell line. I need to work for them! The styling is great and each piece is easy enough to integrate easily into your wardrobe. Those shoes need to be made, I finally found my summer clogs!

El Perro del mar

I went to go see El perro del mar last night at the knitting factory. I recommend you listen to her music or go to any of her shows if you get the chance. She was awesome live and a good dancer to boot!
